‘No shots were fired’ during a petrol station 'burglary' reported in Reading.
Police confirmed no weapons were discharged at the Esso pumps, Tesco Express, in Buckingham Drive, where they attended at 2.45am yesterday (August 19) after multiple reports of burglary.
This follows claims made by residents that they heard banging and saw bullet holes, the BBC reported.
Neither Thames Valley Police officers nor the offenders fired any shots, a spokesperson for the force said.

The Met confirmed no shots were fired by its officers, who were “already on the scene” when the incident occurred.
The Met, rather than Thames Valley Police, are leading the investigation.

Asked for more details of the incident, the Met declined to comment as it was an “ongoing investigation.”
“We don’t anticipate there will be any further information released,” a spokesperson said.
The petrol station was closed after the incident.
