A number of campus facilities have been closed after an unauthorised encampment set up on the playing fields at the University of Reading.
Bosses from the education institution reported a ‘large number of vehicles’ at their Whiteknights campus on Sunday (August 21) evening.
A spokesperson for the University said: “The University is aware of an unauthorised encampment on Whiteknights campus.
"A large number of vehicles have been parked on the playing fields off Shinfield Road, having arrived on Sunday morning.
"We are in communication with the occupants and are working with the relevant authorities.
"The campus remains open to staff and students. However, a number of campus facilities, including the SportsPark, bars/catering outlets and car parks 1A and 7 will be closed until further notice.”
