With Reading Festival taking place this weekend, excitement will be building for those who are attending.
The festival is set to welcome many artists from Friday, August 26 to Sunday, August 28 including Arctic Monkeys, Halsey, The 1975 and more.
If you’re a ticket holder, it's worth knowing the items that are not allowed into the festival.
Reading Festival has listed some items that are banned from the festival on its website.

Reading Festival 2022 banned items list
Some of the items that are not allowed at the event:
- Flares and fireworks – possession will lead to being removed from the festival and could result in 3 months in prison and/or a fine, according to the festival website.
- Firewood won’t be allowed into the campsites
- Fires bigger than knee height or wider than one pace wide are not allowed on the campsite. No fires are allowed in the arena.
- Unauthorised bonfires
- Illegal drugs or ‘legal’/psychoactive substances
- Gas canisters or nitrous oxide
Food and drink
Food is allowed into the Arena but only if it is for personal consumption.
Sealed water under 500ml and empty reusable plastic and metal bottles of all sizes are allowed into the Arena.
You can refill water bottles at the water points inside the arena free of charge.
