Reading Festival was a buzz with stories of headliners who stole the show during the sets this year.
From activist speeches to wardrobe mishaps – an unforgettable moment was in store for anyone at the main stage.
Many things can be said about Reading Festival this year, but memorable is a word that would sum it up nicely.
Here are some of the headliners that caused quite the stir during their performances.
Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes
Jacob Carter of the Rattlesnakes kicked off Reading Festival on Friday by stripping to his boxers and baring his bottom in front of festival goers.
The singer had only got to his second song before his trousers ribbed and he decided to join the crowd in some crowd surfing.
By the end of his set, he was in his underwear, stating that he wanted to have an ‘underpants party’.
Ed Sheeran and Bring Me the Horizon
Fans were shocked on Saturday night (27/8) when Oli from Bring Me The Horizon introduced A-Lister Ed Sheeran to the stage.
The two artists rocked out to one of Ed’s songs, Bad Habits on the Main Stage West alongside the band.
Festivals goers saw the band’s frontman greet Sheeran with a hug before making their way to the centre of the stage.

Rou Reynolds
Frontman for Enter Shikari started a conversation about censorship this year when his set was supposedly ‘cut off’ on Saturday afternoon. The artist took the time to call out Thames Water and those polluting our rivers and coastlines.
Although the problem was said to have been because of a ‘front of house power cut’ on the main stage angry audience members were outraged.
He did however get to finish his speech after the power was re-connected, saying on Twitter that he was pleased to have had a chance to have his say in front of thousands of people and the BBC.
Regardless of the power cut pause, I still got to berate Thames Water & other polluting water companies in front of thousands of people, + thousands more watching back on BBC.

So even if it had been an attempt at censorship it was a poor one as I still got to finish the speech.
