Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to be considering offering a deal for former Reading striker Andy Carroll, if their move for Diego Costa falls through.
Wolves have been chasing Costa, the 33-year-old former Chelsea favourite, but the move has been cast into doubt as he fails the application of signing players from abroad following Brexit.
The Midlands club have appealed the decision, but are said to be considering the former Newcastle United and Liverpool star if the appeal is rejected, according to Daily Telegraph reporter John Percy.

Carroll scored twice for the Royals last season in a short-term spell before joining fellow Championship outfit West Brom for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.
Released by the Baggies at the end of last season, he is currently a free agent having failed a medical with Belgian club Brugge.
He was a real favourite for Reading fans during his eight-game stint, with many calling for him to return with manager Paul Ince looking to sign a forward in the coming weeks.
