Reading Borough Council have announced changes to bin collections on the day of The Queen’s funeral.
Collections will begin early, at 5am, and end at 10am to allow staff to pay their respects on Monday 19.
The council has asked residents to put their bin out the night before.

They added that bins not collected from before 10am will be emptied in the following days.
A spokesperson for Reading Borough Council: “Following the announcement that the State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen on Monday 19 September will be a Bank Holiday, Reading Borough Council has taken the decision to ensure that waste collections will continue to take place on the day in order to provide consistency of service for our residents.

“Authorities around the country have taken various decisions about maintaining bin collections on that day and some of our neighbouring Authorities are also collecting.”
The Re3 recycling centre on Island Road will be closed on Monday until 2pm, at which time it will reopen to the public for booked slots.
