Reading is the second most diverse place in the country, according to new research.
Despite a smaller population that the UK’s cities, the town has a huge variety of careers, languages, ages, shops and entertainment venues, data collected by EnjoyTravel.com shows.
Of all the cities and large towns surveyed, Reading has the the most entertainment venues per square mile.

There are also five universities in Reading, so it might not come as a surprise that it had the highest percentage of professionals in the workforce.
EnjoyTravel also highlighted the Reading festival alongside the range of pubs, music venues, comedy nights, museums.

The company looked at industry diversity, linguistic diversity, age diversity, marital status and the number of fast food chains, independent stores and entertainment venues per square mile, and rated each criterion was scored from 1 to 25.
Only Brighton beat Reading on the top 25 list, and the town was the only place in Berkshire to make the cut.
