A man was knocked unconscious after allegedly harassing women in Reading.

Two men had been urged to leave Friar Street by another man after allegedly making two women feel intimidated on Saturday at around 11.40pm.

One of the pair assaulted the man, who punched him back and left him with a bleed on the brain, police suspect.

He was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital for further treatment but has since been discharged.

The other man did not require hospital treatment.

A 24-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent on Sunday. He was released under investigation on Sunday.

PC Dale Halford said: “We want to speak to the two women that were alleged to have felt intimidated and harassed by the victim.

“They are described as both having blond hair; one was wearing a grey dress and the other a white dress.

“They potentially may have been with another woman too.

“Anyone with information about the women or the wider incident should either make a report online or call 101, quoting reference number 43220419736.

“Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
