Trains between London Paddington and Reading have come to a standstill this evening due to damage to overhead electric wires.

Great Western Railway have said that train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed up to 90 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day (23/9).

Great Western Railway said: “We are sorry for the delay to your journey.

“Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. Mutual ticket acceptance in place between GWR and TfL Elizabeth Line.
“Chiltern Railways and South Western Railway are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
“London Underground are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

The cause of the failure is currently being investigated.
