ALMOST £200,000 has been ploughed into a major revamp for a popular Berkshire pub.
The Crickets pub, in Thatcham, has flung open its doors once again after the extensive renovations.
The busy Berkshire pub has undergone a £196,000 makeover 'inside and out' including the installation of BT and Sky Sports across six large TVs, new dartboards, revamped beer garden, and general refurbishment for a new look throughout.
The Crickets is operated by Matt Denness and Jackey Obrien, who are both local to the Thatcham area, and have run the pub together for the past six years.
Jackey, who has worked at the pub for a total of 14 years, said: “Crickets has become home for Matt and I over the past six years.
"We’ve loved getting to know every single one of our guests, and we’re really excited for what the future will bring.
"It’s been fantastic to reopen the doors and let all of our regulars see the changes that have been made to their favourite local.”
The pub boss added: "This really is a new chapter for the pub. We would love to welcome our guests, old and new, to see the changes and to enjoy a drink with us.”
The revamped pub, part of the Craft Union Pub Company, is back open and ready to welcome customers to see all the changes.
