A man shut a door on a woman and spat on her during an assault on two people in Reading, according to police.

The man, which police descibed as Asian and in his forties, kicked one victim before attacking the second with the car door in Stockton Road.

He had short black hair, a black beard and was driving a Mercedes-Benz at the time of the incident at 3pm on Monday (September 26), Thames Valley Police said.

The victims did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC William Brown, based at Reading Police Station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident or has dash-cam footage in the area at the time of the incident, to please get in touch.
