A woman in her twenties was punched in the face after attempting to help a teenage boy who was dragged to the floor and assaulted.

The incident occurred on Friday, September 30 around 2:30pm in a field behind Theale Village Hall.

The teenage boy was at first dragged to the floor by a female around 5ft 5ins tall and large build, and punched in the face.

As the second victim, a woman in her twenties, attempted to help, she was also punched in the face by the offender.

Investigating officer, PC Harry Downes, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

“Also, if you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were driving in the area around the time, I’d ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
