Reading boss Paul Ince admitted that the amount of media attention his side are receiving after their fine start is beginning to become frustrating.
The Royals picked up a well-earned point against promotion favourites Norwich City last night, taking their unbeaten run to three and keeping them third in the table.
Despite insisting that Championship survival is still the bottom line, Ince feels his team are still not getting the recognition or respect they deserve for pushing near the top end of the league under a transfer embargo in an injury crisis.
Speaking after the Canaries draw, in which Jeff Hendrick rescued a point 10 minutes after Grant Hanley had given the visitors the lead, he said: "I watched the football league highlights and they were talking about our game against Huddersfield, but if we win a game, Huddersfield were terrible. We don't get any mention. Nothing about us. Maybe that's the way it should be but we don’t get enough credit, the players aren’t getting enough credit for what they have done under the embargo.
"If it was any other team, they’d be shouting from the rooftops. It drives us on, but sometimes it irks me a bit, but we will go under the radar and keep getting points. The performances have been great under the circumstances."
Having said that, Norwich boss Dean Smith was full of praise his their opponents last night, believing they executed their game plan perfectly.
"Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition because I thought they covered the spaces behind them really well. They didn't give Teemu a lot of space to run into, so we had to build off our nine instead of playing balls down the side to him.
"Coming into today's game, Reading had the best home record so we knew it was going to be tough.
"I don't think we restricted their balls into Andy Carroll as much as we should. We needed to hold a higher line to their front three to deny the service. He was good at keeping the ball in and around our defensive third."
