Blue Collar Corner is set to host a Halloween event inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead festival.
Organisers at the newly refurbished venue have described the event as a ‘portal to another world’, to be held on Saturday, October 29.
Party-goers are being promised an immersive party from 6pm until 12.30am with festival regalia throughout the venue, games and awards for most-creatively-dressed.

There will be face-painting, film screenings, a secret altar and DJs spinning Latin music alongside multi-genre party tunes.
DJ and organiser Sam Wild, said: “It’s become the adults’ Christmas really – I love the whole dressing-up atmosphere and that people are increasingly embracing the spirit of flamboyance and festivity.
“Most importantly, this is a chance to explore the immense and unique richness of Mexican culture that combines ancient Mayan and Aztec traditions with Catholic practice. It’s both spooky and – at the same time – celebratory.”
Food from around the world, including recently-added Mexican Odyssey and Argentinean cuisine from El Asado, is available through Blue Collar’s canteen stalls as well as a well-stocked bar offering local beer from Double Barrelled brewery and booze from further afield including a special Margarita cocktail.

Ben Narbutas, who will DJ alongside Sam on the night, said he is looking forward to the embracing the autumnal spirit at the core of Halloween and notes that the venue is “only a stone’s throw from St Mary’s Butt Cemetery.
“It’s going be fun, I’ll say that much.”
The event is free entry and revellers are encouraged to attend in fancy-dress. Runs from 6pm ~ 12.30pm Saturday 29 October 2022, Blue Collar Corner (38 Market Place, Reading RG1 2DE)
