Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has warned the Reading players to expect a 'different atmosphere' at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The first meeting between the sides since 2016, Kompany's Clarets are riding high at the summit of the Championship after beating Norwich City 1-0 last night.

Yet to experience a defeat on home territory, the Royals go looking for their third victory on their travels in eight attempts.

Last time out on the road, despite taking a two-goal lead, Swansea City hit back to win 3-2 last Tuesday.

Speaking after the win over the Canaries, the Manchester City legend has warned Reading of visiting the Lancashire outfit.

"Turf Moor is a special place for us," he stated. "Anyone that comes and plays here on our pitch, has to feel the different atmosphere.

"There's a crowd here, with a good group of players that feel that and the connection is great between us.

"We just have to make that count now and use it to our advantage, it will be electric on Saturday as always."

Well aware of the threats posed by the recently-relegated Premier League outfit, boss Paul Ince was just glad to have picked up the win over Bristol City last week.

"The Championship is gruelling and it’s tough. The fans got us through. When you get tired it’s important we have the atmosphere around the club, and we did. Overall, it is a good three points considering we’re going to Burnley on Saturday.

"To have this free week to get some rest and just get a win before we go to Burnley because we know that’s going to be tough. They’re a very, very good side and I think no getting a win today, you think you’ve got to go up to Burnley and get three points, which we will do anyway, but it just gives us a bit more confidence."
