Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is sweating over the fitness of key midfielder Josh Cullen, and will be missing midfield partner Jack Cork when Reading visit on Saturday.
Cullen, who moved to Turf Moor in the summer from Kompany's previous club Anderlecht, had played every minute of every match until missing last night's 1-0 win over Norwich City.
The 26-year-old has two assists for the table-topping Clarets, but missed the Canaries win with an injury.
Speaking after the match, the former Manchester City captain was unsure on the availability of the Republic of Ireland international.
"He took a whack on the weekend and he wasn't able to train yesterday [Monday]," the Belgian legend confirmed. "This game came a bit too soon and there is that many games, any niggle you get, you just have to utilise your squad and that's what we did today."
Midfield partner Cork picked up his fifth booking of the season against Dean Smith's side, rendering him suspended against the Royals.
The one-time England star is one of the more experienced players at Turf Moor, with the 33-year-old playing over 200 times for the Lancashire side in two spells.
The Chelsea Academy graduate is a former teammate of Royals defender Sam Hutchinson, who could return to action this weekend after his injury lay-off.
