Six men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a suspected stabbing in a Reading pub have been released on bail.
An order granting police greater stop and search powers in Whitley has been extended until 5.20am on Monday (October 31).
Two men seriously injured in The Sportsman, in Shinfield Road, on Friday night remain in hospital in a stable condition.
Pressed for further details on the nature of the incident, a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told the Chronicle investigators are working to establish “the motives around these assaults.”

A scene watch outside the public house in Whitley has been lifted, but officers remain patrolling the area and members of the public should expect to see an increased police presence.
The six men arrested, aged 18 to 23 and all from Reading, have been granted bail on ‘strict conditions’, according to Thames Valley Police.
The section 60 stop and search order applies to the area between Shinfield Road, Northumberland Avenue and Elm Lane.
