Reading Lions Fireworks, the town’s biggest annual display, has been cancelled.
The spectator area at Reading City FC, in Scours Lane, has become water-logged raising safety concerns, Reading Lions announced.
They hope to issue a new date for the display within the next few weeks.

“After a year of planning we share your disappointment and hope that you appreciate that this decision was made to protect your safety.”
The popular event raises thousands of pounds for local charities and causes each year.

Fairground rides, hot food, face-painting and a licensed bar were expected at the celebration.
All purchased tickets will be automatically valid for the new event.
Ticket sales are currently suspended until we are able to announce any new date.
