A 35-year-old man from Reading who stole luxury goods from a John Lewis has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Hasnaat Asghar, of Oxford Road, took a Jo Malone diffuser and two electronic corkscrews worth £146 from the shop in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe, Kent, on October 14.
At Medway Magistrates' Court on November 2, Asghar was sentenced to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months.

A judge ordered him to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £154, and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
No compensation was ordered because the stolen items were recovered.
Asghar, who pleaded guilty, must pay the total £239 by December 31.
