Manchester United have 'concrete' interest in former Reading keeper Emi Martinez, according to reports.
The 30-year-old Argentine played 18 times for the Royals in 2019 before returning to Arsenal and helping them win the FA Cup.
Now at Aston Villa, the shot stopper has attracted attention far and wide for his heroics as Argentina won the 2022 World Cup.
Martinez picked up the Golden Glove for the best keeper in the tournament, making a match-changing save in stoppage time to keep his country in the game.
According to Football Insider, "Man United have a “concrete” interest i" in Martinez, seeing him as a successor to long-term keeper David De Gea.
The report continues with "Martinez is highly rated by United’s recruitment team and they have been watching him closely during his two-and-a-half seasons at Villa."
The Villans spent a reported £20m on the keeper, but his price tag will certainly have increased in 2022.
