A kebab shop near Reading town centre could be getting new signage and upgrades to a petrol station as just some of the last applications to be submitted this year.
The owners of Harput Kebab have applied to make changes to the shopfront in Oxford Road.
Meanwhile, electric vehicle charging capabilities and forecourt changes could be made to the BP Londis services in Henley Road, Caversham.
Elsewhere, two property owners have submitted separate plans to convert offices into flats.
You can view the applications submitted by typing the reference in brackets into the council’s planning portal.
New signs for Kebab Shop (221876 and 221824)
Harput Kebab at 139 Oxford Road has applied to replace its current blue branding with yellow lettering on a grey background.
The plans are split into two applications.
Reference 221876 lays out the designs for the new signage, and reference 221824 is an application for listed building consent.
139 Oxford Road is Grade II listed as it dates back to the mid 19th century.
It is also part the Russell Street/Castle Hill/Oxford Road Conservation
Area and Reading’s High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ).
New electric vehicle facilities for BP station (221842)
The Motorfuel Group has applied to build a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) charging area at the fuel station at 184 Henley Road.
Called the BP Leander Service Station, the site currently has two EV charging points and is supplied by Londis.
A new charging area would provide five EV charging bays under a sheltered canopy.
Reorganisation of the site would involve replacing the air and water unit and relocating the gas cages, among other changes.
Conversion of offices above funeral directors into apartments (221659)
Mr & Mrs J. Filbee, the owners of the 104-108 School Road, Tilehurst, have submitted a fresh plan to convert offices in the building into apartments.
It’s currently the home of The Co-operative Funeral Care, which is on the ground floor.
The owners had submitted a plan reference 221564 to convert the first floor into two one-bed flats and one two-bed flat, but this was withdrawn on November 7.
Now, they have opted to convert the first floor into three one-bedroom flats instead.
Office to flat conversion in Caversham (221681)
Here, the applicants the McClure Fisher Family Pension Scheme have applied to convert the first and second floor of 26 Prospect Street in Caversham from offices into a two bedroom flat.
A kitchen, living room and shower toilet would be provided on the first floor, and two double bedrooms, one being ensuite, would be made on the second floor.
A Google Map image from November shows scaffolding on the building and signs declaring that a new dentist is due to open on the ground floor.
