A brand-new reality show will see two Berkshire lads go up against four other couples in a sunkissed adventure of a lifetime.
Loaded in Paradise, which premiers on ITVX on Wednesday, December 28 combines all the tactics of a game show with the drama only found in the Love Island villa.
Guy Davis (21) and Jamie Benson (22) set off for Greece’s Aegean Islands to compete to control and spend 50,000 euros in an Island-hopping over-the-top spending spree.
The twist is that only one pair can be in charge of the gold card pre-loaded with cash, whilst the others begin the hunt to track them down and take charge of the much-coveted card.
Jamie said: “When I was first approached about the show and asked who would make the best team mate, my first choice was Guy.
“We’ve known each other since we were six years old, growing up in Hermitage and went to school together right up until uni.
“We had been talking about going travelling or taking a holiday together but because of uni, funds were always short. When we got this opportunity for a free trip, we decided to jump on it.
“Guy was the perfect person to have asked to do this with me because we have always had a very competitive relationship and we have so much banter with each other.”
Every 48 hours during the show, lavish safehouse’s open to all contestants where audiences are able to watch all the drama and double dealings unfold.
Like any game show, some of the couples came in with their own tactics to guarantee they walked away the winner.
Jamie added: “Every two days we all met up at a safehouse – a little bit like Love Island – and my idea was to pose as a friend but work as a spy a little bit.
“So, plant seeds of what we may do with the gold card but actually do the complete opposite, or try to get to know them as mates to get information about what they would do with the gold card.”
The pair have both said that before entering the show they never had much of an interest in reality TV and didn’t quite know what to expect.
“We went in thinking it would be like any reality tv show but without the drama,” Guy added.
“There was the game aspect of it which was really exciting and more my bag. However in the end it just turned into a pure reality show with drama and lots of love interests.”
“We left for Greece just as I had finished university for the Summer, so I was looking forward to a long holiday in the sun and it was the best summer of my life."
Davis is a big Reading FC fan and says that he is expecting a lot of ‘support (and stick)’ after the first episode airs on December 28.
Benson is currently living in London where he has joined the family aesthetics business, specialising in fillers, microblading and body sculpting.
This isn't the first time however that one of the pair has been thrust into the limelight.
Guy once appeared in the tabloids when he was spotted ‘going home’ with Ulrika Jonsson after a night out.
He explained: “It was quite a funny situation. I am best mates with Ulrika’s daughter which is how I got to know Ulrika.
“We were out one night, and she decided to pull a prank and put up on her Instagram story that she was ‘taking two guys home’.
“It was a huge scandal, but I get along really well with her, and she was happy to do it.”
The first episode of Loaded in Paradise is set to air on ITV X on Wednesday, December 28.
