Andy Carroll's late penalty snatched a point for Reading against managerless Norwich City.

Here are the player ratings.

Joe Lumley, 7: A great game for the on-loan keeper who made two or three key saves on Teemu Pukki and Josh Sargent. Kept Reading in the game and allowed them to go on and equalise late on.

Junior Hoilett, 6: A good performance from the Canada international, providing a constant threat from the right-hand side.

Andy Yiadom, 6: Marshalled the defence well from a more central position. Had a mazy run which almost set the Royals on goal.

Reading Chronicle:

Naby Sarr, 6: Solid enough but could have prevented Adam Idah's goal with a stronger header but other than that put in a good shift.

Tom Holmes, 7: Commanding performance on his 100th appearances, dominating in the air and putting some strong blocks in.

Tom McIntyre, 6: Played well, comfortably taking care of his opposite winger. No real threat in attack, but was never going to let a goal come from his side.

Jeff Hendrick, 6: Busy in the midfield but did not appear to do a great deal which immediately effected the match. Ticked the ball over nicely.

Mamadou Loum, 6: Strong at times, dirivng through midfield and breaking up play. Tried to overplay at times and dallied on the ball too often.

Tom Ince, 6: A quiet game by Ince's standards. still looked good, spraying passes around and stinging Angus Gunn's palms with long-range efforts.

Andy Carroll, 7: Took his goal well and was one of the best defenders on the pitch. Sometimes attempted too much, but had clever ways of bringing the ball down.

Lucas Joao, 5: Struggled to make an impact but did have a good chance from a corner.

Reading Chronicle:

Substitutes

Yakou Meite, 7: Very bright in his cameo, making things happen and stretching the Norwich back line.

Nesta Guinness-Walker, 8: Took the game to the Canaries and the hosts could not handle him. Has forced his name into the conversation to start against West Brom.

Amadou Mbengue: n/a
