One of Reading's oldest and most-loved pubs has been listed on the market for just under £1 million after 320 years of trade.
The Sun Inn, once a thriving Reading pub located on Castle Street, is a grade II listed building steeped in years of history.
With its residential upper floors, extensive car park and prominent car park, this would be the perfect project for somewhere looking to open their own local pub, and all for just £750,000.
Although not for the faint-hearted, there is a lot of potential to return the forgotten public house to its former glory.
The bar, which dates back to the 17th century, closed its doors to customers on May 14, 2022.
The Sun Inn was known to be home to one of Reading’s best-kept secrets.
A huge underground room which was used for overspill storage for the olde worlde gaol next door.
It is also thought to have housed Napoleonic prisoners of war at one point (probably during the Napoleonic Wars).
