READING'S popular Indian restaurant Clay's has confirmed exactly when it will open in Caversham this Spring - much to everyone's excitement.
Clay’s Hyderabadi, run by husband and wife team Nandana and Sharat Syamala, used to be located in London Street, gaining a reputation for excellent Indian food from the Hyderabad region.
But earlier in 2022, it was announced that Clay’s would be relocating to the Baron Cadogan 22-24 Prospect Street, Caversham which used to be a Wetherspoons and became independent pub restaurant before closing in March.
There were hopes that Clay’s would open at the end of September or early October, but a series of difficulties in refitting the building has meant the moving project has stalled.
However, the restaurant has finally announced on social media that it will open on Wednesday, February 1 at 12pm.
They wrote on Twitter: "Happy news. After being closed for almost half of 2022, we finally have a date for you."

"The bookings are open from 1st of February. We will be open from noon with a new lunch menu, coffee, drinks and snacks.
"As promised, we will be doing two menus. The restaurant section will have the much loved Clay's menu. Apart from that, we are adding a small plate menu for the bar section.
"Breakfast and brunch will follow shortly once we get the hang of the new place.
"We will be a new-front-of-the-house team with almost all of them from Caversham. The cooking is still Sharat and me. We can't wait to open the doors for you, but we are all a bit battered with everything that has happened for the past few months, so please be gentle with us.
"We promise to give you the best we can. See you all soon."
