Two Reading men have been jailed following a robbery which took place at the University of Reading campus.
On July 22, 2020, Ryan Rogers, 23, and Shaylun Wilson, 23 approached two boys in their teens and stole their mobile phones.
Both pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery at Reading Crown Court on December 13.
Case investigator Victoria Burgess, based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “Rogers and Wilson have been given a significant sentence following their conviction”
Ryan Rogers, aged 23, of Parkside Road, Reading, was arrested on July 28 2020 and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Thursday (26/1).
Shaylun Wilson, aged 23, of Lock Place, Reading, was arrested on July 27 2020 and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment at the same court on 14 December last year.
Investigator Burgess said: “I hope that the conviction and sentencing of these men will bring some closure to the victims.
“Thames Valley Police will continue to thoroughly investigate such crimes so that offenders can be brought before the courts to face justice.”
