A dormant Reading restaurant could have flats built above it according to a plan seen this week.
La’De Express opened in early 2022 but appeared to close just months after.
Now, a plan has been submitted to convert offices above it into flats.
A similar office to flat conversion plan has been submitted elsewhere in the town centre as some of the most recent planning applications submitted this week.

Conversion of town centre offices into flats (221880 and 221881)
Sykes Capital, the owning company of 23-24 Market Place, has applied to convert the first, second and third floors of the building from offices into six one-bedroom flats.
Two plans have been submitted, application 221880 relates to the conversion of the building, with 221881 involving internal and external alterations including new ventilation outlets to the rear of the building.
The ground floor of the building was until recently occupied by Turkish restaurant La’De Express which has since closed.
The restaurant unit would be retained. 23-24 Market Place is Grade II listed as it dates back to the early 1800s.
Replacement of eight garages with two homes (221563)
Here, developer Metrus Ltd has applied to demolish a row of eight garages and replace them with two homes contained in one new building at 1 Epping Close near the town centre.
The homes would each have three bedrooms, with two single beds on the ground floor and a double bedroom on the first floor.
On the ground floor, each would have an open plan kitchen living room with a bathroom. There would also be a bathroom upstairs with both coming with a balcony.
There would be one car parking space each, with electric vehicle charging facilities.
Conversion of floors into two flats (230098)
Yisko Estates Limited has applied to convert the first and second floors of 32 St Mary’s Butts into two flats.
The building is occupied on the ground floor by the Kall Kwick business, which recently applied (app 230076) for signage changes.
The plan for the upper floors would provide two two-bedroom flats, which would each come with one double bed, one single bed, a kitchen living room and a bathroom.
Extension for Caversham home (230110)
The owners of 1 Oxford Street in Caversham have applied to build a part one, part two-storey rear extension to their home.
The house is currently a two bedroom end of terrace, with the bedrooms upstairs and living quarters, including a bathroom, on the ground floor.
The extension would provide enlarged kitchen and dining facilities with a toilet on the ground floor, clearing space for an enlarged master bedroom and a bathroom on the first floor.
