A LITTER bug has been fined almost £300 for throwing a cigarette but onto the floor in a seaside town.
James Coyle, 36, of Lambourn, Hungerford, pleaded guilty to dropping the finished cigarette onto the floor by the sea front in Hayling Island.
The littering happened on August 9 last year and Coyle was fined for dropping the butt and leaving it there.

He was fined £80 for littering as well as a £32 victim surcharge and £155 of court costs, totalling £267 altogether.
Coyle’s guilty plea was taken into consideration when he was fined in court last month.
