Primary school students across Berkshire awaited with bated breath this week (1/3) to see if they had been accepted into their preferred school for the next stage of their education.
With some of the best schools in the country on their door step, it is reported that 95 percent of students have been offered a place in one of their preferred secondary schools.
This includes state schools and independent secondary schools.
Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC), who allocate places across Reading and surrounding areas received 1,958 applications for secondary school places and has ensured that all pupils have a place in September.
Some people may be looking at the best private and independent schools across Berkshire which include Eton College, Wellington College and St Mary's School in Ascot.
We have put together a list of some of the best and worst state-secondary schools in Berkshire, including the Reading, Bracknell, Slough, Windsor and West Berkshire areas.
The best schools have received an outstanding Ofsted rating and the worst have been awarded ‘inadequate or ‘requires improvement’.
