A new pizzeria that is set to open in Reading has submitted plans for its outdoors area and more adjustments to the building it occupies.

Vesuvio Pizzeria will operate out of 20 Norcot Road in Tilehurst, which used to be the home of a Coral betting shop.

Works have already been undertaken to build an outdoors area, therefore an ‘after the fact’ plan has been submitted to ensure the council’s planning department consent for the pizzeria.

Meanwhile, an apartment management company has applied to make changes to a tower containing 87 flats to make the building more fire resistant.

You can view the applications by typing their references into Reading Borough Council's planning portal.

Vesuvio Pizzeria is gearing up to open at 20 Norcot Road in Tilehurst.

The food business recently won approval to serve dine-in customers with pizza and alcohol until 11pm each night, and run a takeaway service until 2am each night as well.

However planning officer David Brett objected, arguing the use of 20 Norcot Road as a pizzeria has not been properly established with the council’s planning department.
