A hair salon in Caversham is set to be converted into a new Polish restaurant.

The Hair Studio at 49 Hemdean Road is due to be converted into a restaurant serving Polish food.

Polish cuisine has become renowned for delicious continental sausages and meats, roast dinners and baked goods.

A woman called Monika Maria Michalowska has submitted an application to sell alcohol from the premises.

Imported Polish beer has been popular in the UK for years, with the biggest brands being Tyskie, Żywiec, Żubr and Perla.

The restaurant will be called Pasibrzueszek Polish Cousin Restaurant, with the intention being to sell alcohol on the premises from 11am to 11pm Tuesday to Sunday.

The popularity of Polish food is growing in Reading, with independent Polish supermarkets dotted throughout the town and national chains stocking the cuisine in continental food sections.
