Reading is home to the best festival in the UK, according to a 2023 study.
Get Licensed analysed data on UK festivals looking at the size of the line-up, ticket price for 2023, price difference over the last five years, festival capacity, weather and how publicised the event is, to determine the UK’s best festival.
Reading Festival came in first place, with Glastonbury, Latitude Festival, Wireless Festival, and the Isle of Wight Festival making up the UK’s top five.
The 2023 Best Festival report shows that Reading festival came first scoring 7.55 out of 10. The report claims that Reading beats Glastonbury "due to its much kinder pricing".
Reading Festival is one of the most popular on social media, placing in the top three for Instagram posts and TikTok views. It is also one of the most publicised festivals, taking second place for the number of articles.
Glastonbury came in second place with the biggest capacity and cheapest cost per artist (just 31p per artist) due to its huge line-up. Compared to Reading where tickets cost £8.67 per artist and Victorious Festival, in Portsmouth, costs £12 per artist.
The Isle of Wight Festival was voted the UK’s sunniest festival with an average of 256.4 sunshine hours in June. Reading comes in 42nd in the UK when it comes to sunshine with an average of 190.5 hours in June.
Data from April 17 claimed that Reading ranked 2nd best in the UK, however a update has been made by Get Licensed which boosts Reading to first place.
