THE cause of a fire in a residential building in Reading is still unknown.
At about 7pm yesterday (April 22), smoke could be seen billowing out of a window in Oxford Road above the Glam Shotz hair and beauty salon.
Three fire engines could be seen outside the building and the road was closed in both directions.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service have been asked for a comment. However it still unknown the cause of the fire and whether anyone has been injured.
This is the second time a fire happened in this building. In 2020, a person was seriously injured after a fire broke out on Wednesday, September 9.
The man was in critical condition in hospital following the blaze which occurred in the same block.
It is unknown what the cause of the fire in 2020 was but it was confirmed that the incident was under investigation.
The crews took nearly five hours to get the fire under control using hoses and attacking the fire from the aerial platform.

It is unknown how long it took the fire to be put out yesterday but specialist equipment could be seen being used by fire crews to access the second floor windows.
