A fuel station at a busy junction in Reading could soon be allowed to sell alcohol 24 hours a day.
Shell Motor Fuel Limited has applied to sell alcohol at all hours at its service station at the Norcot Junction, one of the busiest in Reading and a key route to and from Tilehurst.
The Norcot station has a range of services including toilets, a jet wash, air and water for vehicles
Inside, items are also sold through the Shell Select brand, along with Costa Coffee drinks and Jamie Oliver deli by Shell.
The application has been submitted to Reading Borough Council’s licensing department.
You can make a representation on the application by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk .
The closing date for representations is Sunday, May 14.
The petrol station is located off Oxford Road at its junctions with Norcot Road and Wigmore Lane.
In some cases, petrol stations have been granted permission to sell alcohol 24/7 on the provision that the station itself is closed to walk in customers with a night hatch being used to purchase goods.
Some petrol stations may only have licences to sell alcohol until 11pm, after which drinks must be removed from sale areas.
