Firefighters tackled a blaze at a home in Tilehurst on Friday evening (April 29) after fire spread through residential building.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews were called out to an incident on Thurso Close, Tilehurst, at around 9pm on Friday.
The fire started in a first-floor flat before spreading to the roof.
A spokesperson from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS), said: “Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire in a first-floor flat that had spread into the roof space of a residential building.
"Firefighters equipped in breathing apparatus used the aerial ladder platform, three hose reels and one main jet to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were on the scene for approximately three hours and 20 minutes before returning the following morning to inspect the property for hotspots.”
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham, Mortimer, Bracknell, Whitley Wood and Theale Fire Stations were sent to the scene, alongside an Aerial Ladder Platform and the Incident Command Unit and three Officers.
When asked what caused the fire, a spokesperson for RBFRS said: "An investigation into this incident is ongoing".
