A NUMBER of defendants have appeared in Reading Crown Court during the first week of May, many of whom have been found guilty of a crime.
Some of those are yet to be sentenced whereas others have already been sent to jail for a several years.
Here are some defendants who were found guilty or jailed this week:

A paedophile pensioner who plied a young boy with heroin and booze before raping him has finally been jailed for over 13 years.
David Morgan would lure the troubled teen to his car and would supply him with drugs before having 'his way' with him, Reading Crown Court heard.
The 80 year old, of Redlands Road in Reading, pleaded guilty to raping and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old man in 1997.
He was sentenced to 13 and a half years at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, May 2.
The court heard how the elderly man, who was 54 at the time of the incident, had plied his victim with alcohol and drugs at a bail hostel in Reading where he was staying at time having been released from prison for similar crimes of sexual assault.

A security guard has been found guilty of punching a shoplifter, causing him to fall and suffer from fatal head injuries leading to his death.
Sabeur Trabelsi, 44, of King’s Road, Reading, was found guilty of manslaughter at Reading Crown Court following a trial of delivering a ‘fatal blow’ to Jason Page, 52, on March 31, 2021.
Mr Page, who was homeless at the time of his death, had stolen about £300 of meat from the Marks and Spencers store in Chalfont Way, Lower Earley, when he was chased from the store by Trabelsi.
Following an altercation outside the BP petrol station, Trabelsi punched Mr Page causing him to fall and hit his head.
He sadly died the following evening after suffering from ‘unsurvivable’ injuries.
As the unanimous verdict was delivered after six hours and 52 minutes of deliberation, Trabelsi looked solemn.
Trabelsi was also found guilty of perverting the course of justice by informing the ambulance crews and police that Mr Page had fallen where he had gone to run away from him.
He will be sentenced on June 12.

A man has been found guilty of raping a 14-year-old girl in Slough.
Keegan Edwards was found guilty following a trial at Reading Crown Court last week.
On the first day of trial (Wednesday, April 16), the 22-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of assault by penetration.
He was later found guilty of a further count of rape and a second count of assault by penetration.
