1. Kempton's, Sunningdale Park

Kempton's is rated 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor and is described as "a stylish venue, set in a beautiful listed building."

One reviewer said: "Amazing afternoon tea, great service, immaculate venue." 

Another agreed, calling it a "gorgeous location for afternoon tea!"

Kempton's is offering a coronation themed afternoon from April 29 to May 13.

 

2. Cliveden House, Taplow

Cliveden House has 4.5 stars on Trip Advisor as is described as "One of the world's finest luxury hotels, this grand stately home is set in the heart of the Berkshire countryside."

One reviewer called it an "exquisite affair"

Another commented: "The Afternoon Tea in the Dining Room was a wonderful experience with a full range of fresh sandwiches, scones and mini cakes."

The Great Royal Gardens afternoon tea is from £50 per person. Add champagne for £68 per person.

 

3. Hare and Hounds, Newbury

The Hare and Hounds, in Newbury, has been voted one of the best in the South East as 94 pubs and bars across the country were recognised as the 2023 National Pub & Bar Awards County winners.

The pub has 4 stars on Trip Advisor.

One reviewer said it is "very hard to fault this place".

Afternoon tea is served from 12pm to 5pm on Monday to Saturday.

4. Easthampstead Park, Wokingham

Described as "a beautiful Victorian mansion set in the Berkshire countryside. It is surrounded by 60 acres of woodland, parkland and formal gardens", Easthampstead Park has 4 stars on Trip Advisor.

One review said: "This was the best quality afternoon tea we have had for along time, and the staff made it memorable."

Another said: "Very lucky to have been served a gluten free and dairy free afternoon tea which was so delicious!"

5. De Vere Wokefield, Reading

The hotel has been transformed after a £10million renovation. It has 4 stars on Trip Advisor.

One reviewer said they had an "excellent experience". 

Another said they "cannot recommend it [afternoon tea] enough".

Blandy's has got a 4.5 star rating on Trip Advisor.

One reviewer said: "Absolutely fabulous afternoon tea

"Visited Blandys after having spa treatments at Natura. A wonderful afternoon tea to celebrate my parents wedding anniversary."

One reviewer said: "On arrival we had a Cream Tea waiting for us, The scones were nice and warm and fluffy with jam and cream and a choice of teas. That was a lovely welcome."

Another called it a "nice hidden gem".

One reviewer said it is "nothing short of perfection"

Another commented on the price: "Three champagne teas came in at about £225, so not cheap but comparable to other high class establishments such as Cliveden or Fortnum and Mason."

9. Cantley House Hotel, Wokingham

With 4 stars on Trip Advisor, Cantley House Hotel is described as "Victorian Country House Hotel set in 50 acres of beautiful Berkshire parkland".

One reviewer said: "Thank you Cantley house hotel again this year for a wonderful Halloween afternoon tea & trail. This is our 2nd year doing this, and this years was even better than last years and last years was amazing too."

12. The Roseate, Reading

The Roseate has a 4.5 star review on Trip Advisor.

One reviewer said: "Started with a delicious afternoon tea. The food was lovely, beautifully presented and very filling."

Another commented: "We had an afternoon tea booked, the selection was fantastic and is hands down the best afternoon tea I've had."

One reviewer called it the "best afternoon tea experience" before stating that "my sister and I tried their afternoon tea with extra order of camembert burger and fries and everything was really delicious!"
