Thousands of pounds have been spent to renew signage across Woodley so far this year.
Woodley Town council has spent nearly £8,000 on renewing signage at buildings, parks and other community spaces it manages.
The spend has been revealed in financial documents presented to the town council’s strategy and resources committee.
The document shows £7,816.85 was spent on information notice signs and £60.40 for defibrillator signs.
The town council paid a 50 per cent deposit (approximately £3,908.42) for the signage on January 26, with the remainder being paid on February 16.
The sum of £60.40 for defibrillator signs was paid on March 23, resulting in a total spend of £7,877.25.
The money was paid to Richard Wheeler Signs, which was contracted to make the signs for the town council.
Explaining the project, the clerk of Woodley Town Council said: “It’s for all the new signage across all buildings, our parks, play areas and open spaces.
“They were awarded the contracts.
“All the signage is up and the contract is closed.”
The town council is in charge of running community facilities such as The Oakwood Centre, Coronation Hall, and Woodford Park and Leisure Centre.
The spend on the signage contract was presented to strategy and resources committee last month.
