The first new train station in Reading for over 100 years will open at the end of this month.
Reading Green Park station, that will offer services on the Reading and Basingstoke line, will open on Saturday, May 27.
Construction work on Reading Green Park station was set to be finished in July last year, with hopes trains will be running to and from there by the end of 2022.
The new Green Park station will have two-fully accessible platforms and an overbridge providing access to all platforms via stairs and lifts.
It will have a bus stop and two Council-run car parks.

Reading Borough Council’s lead councillor for Climate Strategy and Transport, Tony Page, said: “I’m thrilled that we finally have an opening date for Reading Green Park Station. This will be Reading’s first brand new station since the opening of Reading West station on 1st July 1906.
“When open for public use from Saturday 27 May, Reading Green Park Station will form an integral part of Reading’s ever-growing sustainable transport infrastructure.
“The new multi-modal interchange will dramatically improve accessibility and connectivity to this important area of south Reading. The future expansion of the business park and residential areas on Green Park, as well as the proposed Royal Elm Park mixed use development, will all benefit from the new station.”
The station will ease traffic on the A33 road. It will also provide improved sustainable travel options for Reading Football Club fans.
Construction is being supported by Reading Borough Council, Network Rail and Great Western Railway.
It is being funded by Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Great Western Railway, the Department for Transport, Network Rail and local developer contributions.
