A MAN who strangled and threatened a woman with a knife in Mapledurham has been jailed for 40 months.
Oliver Baker, 27, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday (May 15) for seven different offences including intentional strangulation, assault and controlling behaviour.
Judge Sarah Campbell jailed Baker, of no fixed abode, for 40 months and has made him subject to a seven-year restraining order against the victim.

He is also not to contact Mapledurham Golf Club or to visit the building.
The main incident happened in the village on February 22 this year. Baker was charged with one count of intentional strangulation, one count of assault, one count of threatening another person with a knife, and one count of racially assaulting an officer.
Between March 31, 2022 and February 23, 2023 Baker was found guilty of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
He was also found guilty of two further counts of intentional strangulation August 31, 2022 and November 1, 2022.

His main sentence was 15 months imprisonment for intentional strangulation and 24 months consecutive for threatening someone with a knife.
He also received one month consecutive for threatening the officer but the remaining counts received concurrent sentences.
