Prosecutor Jollyon Robertson said the incidents happened when the defendant was 18 and was ‘play-fighting’ with the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons’ before kissing her.
The pair exchanged numbers and texts were exchanged between the two where they referred to each other as ‘my king’ and ‘my princess’ before the girl referred to Boyd as her ‘boyfriend’.
Soon, the girl’s mother found out about Boyd and he was later arrested and interviewed. He told police that he believes she ‘made up the allegations’ as she ‘fancied him’ and he ‘shut her down’.
He added that he thought she was aged 17 due to her ‘physical appearance and the way she behaved’.
