A HUGE fire has broken out in Reading town centre and the public are being warned to "avoid the area".
Five fire engines including crews from Theale, Wokingham and Reading are on the scene and an ariel platform.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "We are currently attending an incident on Friar Street, Reading.

"Please avoid the area if possible to allow emergency services clear access to the scene.
"If you use public transport in the area, please find an alternative route. Further updates will be provided."
Reading Borough Council has also warned the public to stay clear from the area.
They tweeted: "Please avoid the area if possible to allow emergency services clear access to the scene. If you need public transport please find an alternative route."
