A DISCOUNT store is set to expand one of its Reading stores as part of a retail park's redevelopment.
B&M will be moving to a bigger site on Brunel Retail Park, in Rose Kiln Lane, as the shopping area undergoes a transformation.
Reading Borough Council approved planning permission to knock down the retail park to make way for a logistics park two years ago.
The owners of the retail park, built in 1996, made the decision to save some of the units for shopping, creating one huge store earmarked for B&M and a second store to be occupied by another retailer yet to be named.
Developers Ridge, acting on behalf of the site's owner Mayfair Capital, also suggest a cafe will be created as part of its plans.
It is not known when B&M will move into its new store or when its current store will be closed.
The chain has also submitted an application to Reading Borough Council to sell alcohol from 7am until 11pm, Monday to Saturday. The brand stocks beers, cider, wine and spirits among its vast array of items.
The application will be considered at a later date. Anyone wishing to comment can do so by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk before Thursday, June 22.
B&M has been contacted for comment.
