A MAN has been found guilty of pulling a woman from the car by her neck, stealing the vehicle and crashing in it in Reading.

Mohamed Hamza, of Liverpool Road, was found guilty on Monday (June 5) of one count of robbery and driving with no insurance after the incident on October 29 last year.

A trial at Reading Crown Court heard that the woman was driving home in the early hours of the morning from work along Wokingham Road, Reading.

She stopped for a red light before Cemetery Junction when a hooded male opened the door, pulled her from the vehicle by her neck and then sped off with two other males in tow.

The silver Corsa sped off before it was later found by an off-duty officer, crashed and abandoned near A3290 roundabout.

A jury found the 20-year-old guilty but acquitted him of two other charges. He was acquitted of attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

It was alleged he held an imitation firearm to another driver in Earley Road in attempts to steal the vehicle but the jury dismissed these charges.
