A TEENAGE girl who has accused a man of ‘bribing’ her into his car before raping her told police she felt ‘disgusting’, a court has heard.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told police she had been raped by 47-year-old David Birmingham on August 25, 2018.
The alleged incident happened in a ‘secluded, rural area’ near Woodley after Birmingham allegedly ‘bribed’ the girl into his car and drove her there.

He is now standing trial at Reading Crown Court charged with one count of rape, one count of assault by penetration and two counts of sexual activity with a child.
At the proceedings on Tuesday (June 6), the jury heard a recorded video of the girl being interviewed by police about the alleged incident.
She said Birmingham had ‘bribed’ her into the car before driving her to some woodlands just outside of Reading.
It is alleged he then led her through the wooded area before saying, ‘Lets stop here’.
She told police she felt ‘stupid’ for getting in his car.

In a recorded police interview, she said: “He started lifting my top up and got me to put my arms up. He took off my clothes and started touching my breasts and my whole body.
“He took my top off first and then started taking my trousers off. He basically starts touching me.
“Not long after he started taking his penis out and just started having sex with me. I was just so scared.
“We got back into his car and he drove me around the corner from my house. I basically had to walk back to mine and that’s basically what happened.
“I was thinking [at the time], ‘What the heck are you doing?’ I felt disgusting. I felt uncomfortable.”
The girl told police that Birmingham had not said anything to her during the alleged assault or during the car ride home.
When asked by an officer if the girl had ‘in anyway responded’ in a manner that would indicate to Birmingham that was ‘enjoying herself’, the girl said no.

Birmingham, of Mayfair in Tilehurst, denies all the offences. He is expected to tell the jury that the rape is ‘simply a lie, a fabrication’ and that any messages exchanged between him and the girl have been ‘misunderstood’ by police and the prosecution.
The trial, which is expected to last about five days, continues.
