FESTIVAL-goers are getting ready for Glastonbury this week, as new study reveals that Glastonbury just beats Reading as the UK’s best festival.
As the Arctic Monkeys, Guns N' Roses and Elton John prepare to take to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury later this week, new research from Betfair Bingo has shown that 1 in 5 Brits say Glastonbury is their favourite UK festival.
Reading and Leeds ranked second, while British Summertime Hyde Park followed in third place.
With festival season now officially underway, participants of the Betfair Bingo study also had their say on their biggest icks, with the dreaded toilets taking the number one spot.
Over a quarter of Brits voted for toilets, while being in a dirty environment followed close behind in second place. Attending a festival in bad weather, cost of festival tickets, lack of showers, queuing and sleeping in a tent were also voted for by Brits.
Another recent study, by Savoo, has revealed that Reading Festival is the second best value for money, after Glastonbury.
Savoo analysed the most popular music festivals in the UK and Europe, comparing the price of a full festival ticket with the average cost of watching the top five headliners individually, to find out the estimated value of how much festival-goers can save by attending each festival.
Reading Festival came in second place with a total saving of £455.
Glastonbury soared into the lead with visitors saving up to £1737, when comparing the headline acts to ticket prices.
