ROADWORKS in Caversham have been causing chaos since the beginning of June and residents are wondering when it will be complete.
It was announced on Friday, May 26 that due to a collapsed sewer on Church Street, Caversham, extensive works would need to be carried out between June 5 and June 19.
The road closure was extended by another week when Thames Water attended the site of a ‘complex’ sewer collapse on Church Street.
The roadworks are set to be complete by Monday, June 26.
A Thames Water spokesperson said: "We are sorry to residents of Caversham for any inconvenience caused whilst we carry out necessary sewer repair on Church Street.
The water company added: "We'd like to apologise to local people for any disruption caused by the road diversion and tankers in the area. The tankers are in place to ensure residents can continue to flush their loos and to protect them from flooding.
“We have delivered letters to residents in the area to make them aware of the repair work and the road diversions.”
