AN M4 service station in Reading has been named one of the best in the UK, new study reveals.
Reading Moto service station on the M4 motorway has been voted 6th best service station in the UK for EV charging facilities.
The study, conducted by experts at DriveElectric, looked at the number of EV chargers, the average price of EV charging facilities, the number of shops and food facilities and more to create a service station score/10.
The Reading service station has 20 EV chargers, compared to 24 chargers at an M6 services in Rugby – who came in 1st place.
Reading's service station was given an overall score of 6.25 out of 10.
According to the data by DriveElectric, Rugby M6 service station is the best service station to visit if you drive an electric vehicle as it is one of the cheapest places to charge.
Beaconsfield Services, across the county border, on the M40 came in third place as one of the best rest areas for electric vehicle drivers.
The study also found that the cheapest station for electric vehicle charging is Scotch Corner, at just £0.50/kWh. The average cost of charging across all the service stations in the study is £0.62/kWh.
The most expensive service station for electric vehicle charging is Sarn Park, at £0.76/kWh.
