A READING Primary School celebrated its 60th birthday with a swinging sixties ‘flower power’ themed party.
Staff and pupils at Churchend Primary School, Usk Rd, celebrated the school’s 60th birthday on Friday, June 30.
The landmark event was marked with a range of activities including a whole school photograph and a birthday cake topper design competition for the children.
Families and friends joined pupils and teachers past and present at a ‘60th Birthday Bonanza’ organised by the academy’s thriving PTFA
“Everybody enjoyed visiting the archive exhibition with photographs, newspaper articles, trophies and other memorabilia from across the years”, a spokesperson from the school said.
The evening of games, stalls, face painting, inflatable fun, food and music was a “fitting celebration, bringing the whole school community together.
“Here’s to the next decade!”, the spokesperson added.
