FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a blaze in Winnersh this morning (July 5).
Crews from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to a fire at Valet Easy Hand Carwash and Valeting Centre, on Reading Road, just before 8am this morning.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene alongside an Officer.
Passersby reported seeing firefighters in the Java Cafe, while Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews discovered a fire in a single-storey building that had spread to the roof.
Photos show that at least three fire engines were at the crossroads where Reading Road meets King Street Lane and Robin Hood Lane.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using one hose reel and one hose reel jet.
Crews were on site for almost three hours and one person was treated by paramedics.
